A thing that most children always try to avoid is cleaning up and taking a “painful” bath. As a matter of fact, it only takes a glimpse of the bathroom for them to start feeling frustrated and even cry. So why not make the process a lot easier both for you and your children by decorating one of your bathrooms with kids bathroom accessories? The whole process will become much more fun for your child and will consequently save you a lot of headaches.

And if you want to get the best results out of the bathroom redecorating process, you will want to plan everything thoroughly and carefully – well, like anything else in life. You need to think about the theme of the bathroom, and you can also involve your children in the process too. Ask them what would be their desired theme and look, and try to incorporate some of their ideas that are good. If they can help you, try to involve them also. It will give them a sense of accomplishment and will perceive the bathroom as a much more familiar place.

Besides that, you will need to thoroughly think about how those accessories will fit in the overall theme of the bathroom and integrate them properly. Either your children are into sports, animals like zebras, elephants or giraffes, cars, or anything else, you need to notice what your bathroom already has. You may already have some items that are in the same theme, like a soap dish, a wastebasket, etc.

For instance, one item that can nicely bring everything together is a wallpaper border. It can be placed either on a single wall or on every single wall of the room, in the place where the wall and the ceiling meet. Then, there are the bath towels which serve a dual purpose: an obvious functional one and a decorative one.

If you add a carefully chosen wallpaper border that matches a bath rug, you will create the effect of a very well designed bath. This is because the eye will not be drawn to the ceiling, but more to the floor. Also, think about adding a thematic shower curtain, that will match the overall theme of the bathroom.

Another good idea that will make your kid feel much more comfortable is to bring some of his or her most prized items and place them in the bathroom. However, you need to be careful where you place them, so that the moisture will not damage them. Finally, use your own judgment and common sense when decorating the room with bathroom accessories for kids.  Make sure that they are appropriate for your child’s age and that they are truly unique, making them a delight to your child.
